In this era of global communication and the advancement of technology, the technique of information gathering had grown into something a lot more fearsome than what we have in the old cold war days. These techniques however should not be used at common civilian work and you should try a more subtle information gathering methods to advance from your current position by using a well maintained information network. Information gathering in the business world means collecting data that can help you plan your next step in expanding your business. Quickly acquired data would give you a head start from your competitors as you can plan ahead and think about the countermeasures to be taken when your competitors got a hold of the information later.
In some cases, you would need to do some intelligence sharing in order to find out what your competitors have against you. This is very common in the business world as information is absolute power in this day and age. Positive Deviant Management Methods
While working, we are often caught in the rhythmic habit of our working tradition that we sometime feel that our job is a giant boring loop that is designed to induce frustration upon their worker. Combine this loop with a case of I can do better than this syndrome and you would get a deviant behavior case upon your door. When you think you are under appreciated or you think the routine you are doing is ridiculously oppressing then sometimes you would say that is enough and start doing negative deviant act to show your displeasure. While this is understandable, positively deviant management methods should be taken as your behavior is not going to solve your problem and it would just make things worse for you.
In cases where you deliberately disobey orders from superiors and stop listening to your peers because of your personal vendetta, you are only jeopardizing your own career as you are the minority in the social group consisting of you, your friends and your superiors. While it would help if your companies change management to someone more competent, knuckling down your fist and speaking up your distress politely to your superiors can help you more than being deviant
